What International Men’s Day means

Every 19 November, International Men’s Day turns attention to the health and wellbeing of men and boys, the value of positive role models, and the problems too many of them carry alone.

It was founded by Dr Jerome Teelucksingh of Trinidad and Tobago. IMD Sri Lanka brings that conversation home: to schools, workplaces, clinics and families.

Three days, one purpose.

  1. 31 January

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Men and Boys

Recognising the violence men and boys experience, and where they can find support.

  2. 16 May

World Day of the Boy Child

Putting the education, safety and development of boys on the agenda.

  3. 19 November

    International Men’s Day

Our main day each year, with talks, workshops and community activity.

What we focus on.

Six areas shape everything we plan.
